The Randomness

Real Housewives….

The nice thing about having your own site is watching the stats and where everyone is coming from. The best are the other blogs out there that hav something fun or interesting to say! This one caught my eye and gave me a good laugh, and in a good way. This is a very true thing. Many women in the “game” as some of you call it are underespected. We to bust our asses for what we have and spend countless hours on our cars too.

Be sure to check it out guys:  http://ra64freddy.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/real-housewifes/

“Times have changed..

Women work, some make more money than their husbands, popping kids out every year, and there are those who even help out with swapping tires equipped with white TE37’s on a Trueno:

“Thats your BF’s car right??”

I give props to all the women around me; we take them for granted, and girls that know their shit around a car like CarGirl & K20Jade, who bust their ass and never get the credit for the hard work..deserve it.

Big Ups to those women making that $$ & and wrenching at night/weekends..

*No Homo.”

Thanks again for the shout out Freddy!

I’m just going to keep it stock…not…

I am sure many of you guys have said this as you’re taking your new daily driver home off the lot.. I will just keep it stock, it’s just a daily… Bla Bla Bla.. That’s what I said 2 weeks ago when I took my long-awaited AP1 home. I said goodbye to the worst car by far that I have owned. The BMW was just not for me. I can sit here and bash on it, but you guys know the drill with Beemers! I have been itching for an S2000 for a realllllly long time. I decided it was time! I had my eyes set on an AP1, and found an offer I couldn’t refuse! Please give a warm welcome to Lila. She will be joining my CTR Jade in the garage from now on!As I left the dealer, I told myself I was going to leave this car alone and just enjoy it in its stock form for once. In the past this never lasted long! So, here I am! Two weeks into this relationship with Lila, I am selecting suspension, wheels, and some minor bolt-ons! Wheels are on their way..something from Volk is all I will say at this point,  and the rest is falling into place.

Welcome Lila! This will probably be the only picture I will post of her in her post operative state. ***WARNING IPHONE PICTURE!

Prepping for SF Wek’ Fest ’10 and testing!

Wel’ Fest is only a few weeks away and approaching us quickly! This year is for sure the biggest year ever that I seen in a long time! The time is ticking and time for a few changes before the show!

Testing for this month has been rescheduled for March, so I can focus on cleaning up the car and re-tuning the car with the new manifold from Skunk2! Thanks again to Tony and the crew at Skunk2 for their support with the car! More goodies for the car!

See you all in 2 weeks in SF!! Be sure to stop by the Sportcarmotion booth and check out the car!!

The Year of Randomness continues!

Well, it’s been a year of this randomness! I never expected this site to be as viewed as it has been. I wanted to show the world the story of my build and my ambition away from the forums. I was never big into sitting behind a computer and talking shit to a bunch of 17-year-old boys that think they are all professional drivers and such. So, when it came to posting my build I wanted a place that was mine and I could voice my perception uninterrupted to the entire world.  Don’t get me wrong, I posted on the forums and wanted to share all my hard work, but it just isn’t the same anymore.  I see it as part of moving on in life as you get older. You just don’t care about a bunch of random strangers on the internet anymore approving of your car and what you have made of it anymore. Well,   I was always the different one. I never cared what anyone thought.  So, here I am. I am still here! And, the journey is just beginning! Last year had its ups and downs, and there is still a lot of testing and track time to come with the car this season.

Thanks so much to all of you out there worldwide that keep reading and staying up to date with my randomness! I have seen a outpoor of readers from overseas recently. I am glad that my life long project keeps you occupied!

Be sure to become a fan on Facebook of the site!! It’s finally up!!

Happy New Year!

the randomness will be joining the Sportcar Motion booth for SF Wek’Fest 2010

I can remember the beginning of what used to be called J’s Gathering. This is a great show where you could always go check out the non-riced out/non-HIN style cars when those type of shows were at their prime. Over the years this show has always kept up to its reputation. There’s been some changes of course to the organization in the past few years, but it has remained what it’s all about. Not only is this a great show, but a great venue! Japantown has always had a special place in my heart! Be sure to check this out this year especially if you have never been before. Be sure to stop by and check out the CTR at the Sportcar Motion booth February 28th!

This is a big weekend personally for me as my main inspiration over the years in cars was my Dad. He is the one who got me out in the garage when I was barely walking.   I have not seen him in a very long time, and he will be making a special trip down to San Francisco just to see the car that is my pride and joy! I am very thankful for what I have, and I can’t go on without thanking the people who have made me who I am today. This show is dedicated to the person who helped create me, and always make me strive for the very best in life and no less.

Jade makes the list… 2009 Honors of The Chronicles- stickydiljoe.com

Many people have started blogs in the past few years in the world of cars we choose to live in. Many are good. Many are bullshit. Many are a rip off of others hard work. Many are unique. Even I started a blog in 2009! There is one site that comes to mind when thinking about blogs and honest relatable articles. My friend Joey has proven that time and time again! His taste for quality legit cars is a breath of fresh air compared to many other sites and their glamour. It’s the perfect mix of all-purpose built cars, wither it’s for show or track.  The CTR wasn’t in the top 10, mainly probably due to the fact that I have been MIA for months and yet to hit the track. But, I did make the Honors list for 2009! Thanks to Joey and his support of my build this year and for keeping it real over at the Chronicles! Be sure to check it out, and if you’re not already keeping up daily with his site, start!  http://stickydiljoe.com/2010/01/05/2009-honors-part-1/

Randomness leads to filming a commercial for Honda

You never know where the randomness will lead you. A few weeks before Christmas I got a call from some guy contacting me to arrange my car for some sort of appearance in a Honda commercial. At first thought I thought it was some weird setup by cops to bust people or something, so I blew it off. Then multiple friends and sponsors got the same phone call about finding me and using the car. I thought this was pretty funny! So, after confirming this was indeed legit and not some crazy setup I made my way up to Torrance for the filming. I had no idea what I was getting into! After I froze my ass off for over 10 hours I was done, and made a few bucks! Not bad at Christmas time! I luckily ran into some friends during my hours of freezing in the night. I wasn’t sure if cameras were allowed, so I left my camera at home. Thanks to my friend Mike, I got a few pictures of this very random event!

About to punch the “stranger” with a camera too close for comfort, but then realized it was just my friend Mike! The look says it all!

Stay tuned, maybe we will spot my car in the commercial soon??

Happy Holidays from Jade!

Holidays bring out the joy, the happiness, the lonely, the sad, the emotions of all of us. Holidays are some of the happiest times for some, but the difficult and the sad for some. The holidays have a different meaning to each individual person.  This year I wanted to have some Christmas photos done that represent who we are as a family. Thses pictures show who we are. We are one. Cars have always been a very big part of my life, and has passed on to the 4 of us.  I wish everyone the very best for the holidays.

Much more to come in 2010 for the car and I! Can’t wait!

Until next time! Enjoy!

Girls.. Girls.. Girls… Girls with hot rides

Today, I turned my Blackberry on to be flooded with a bunch of random E-mails about the blog.  This is definitely not a daily occasion for me and the blog to have a huge amount of “fan”  messages. Most words are sent on the site in the comments. After reading the first few messages I realized that another fellow blogger had a pretty cool topic for the day, Girls with hot rides. Thanks to the stats of my site, I was able to check it out first hand. I enjoyed checking out a new blog, and a blog from Toronto too! My beloved CTR was one of these hot rides. Thanks for the love guys! It was cool to see the random mix of cars too chosen for this topic. Be sure to check out this site, definitely a cool blog to follow. http://www.stanceiseverything.com/2009/10/theme-tuesdays-girls-with-hot-ride/

Thanks again to everyone who enjoys the car and my randomness! I appreciate all the kind words and support. And, to all the ladies out there doing it big and trying to play with the big boys, keep at it!! Thanks for the love!  A funny quote I love, “If I had balls, they would be bigger then yours” LOL! No one ever said cars are just for boys! Thanks again everyone!

Commited…..

Someone wise told me when you are burnt out, walk away for a bit and take a break, Don’t give up.. I have learned that taking a break and just leaving the car alone for a bit makes me appreciate it even more than I already do.  It’s been an interesting year for me this year. Many big changes and new beginnings, which I love but this year has left me tired! I have been laying low just doing what I need to do for the past month. Even the people close to me in life ask, what’s wrong with you? Yeah, it’s not like me to just mind my own and stay away from the track and the fun, but I took some time for myself. I have found a new reason to be happy, and I am refreshed!

On Friday, I went and gassed up the CTR with my usual 111 octane, who says you have to run pump gas on the freeway?! I had my day set out on visiting some of the people who have been supporting me and the R during this year for some photos, and chit chat.  First stop, Skunk 2. Then, a visit to BDL up in the OC. Unfortunately, I had to cut the day short since I had to rescue my Mom and a WRX with a dead ass battery. I had to reschedule for next week with the guys at Skunk.

Later in the evening I stopped by to see my friends at BDL. They are hard at work over there with the new catalog, and snapped a few pics of the car and I. During the shoot in the dark, we managed to have a few stalkers stop by. God knows how they know we’re out there! A guy stops quickly in his primered EG with absolutely no exhaust. I see him walking quickly in the dark toward us, I begin to sigh.. “man here we go again… why, why the weirdos? Does anyone have any manners anymore…?”  As he gets closer, I realise he is a kid! He probably isnt even old enough to drive his car! He comes over and his mouth is wide open! He doesn’t even know what to say! I try to make it less awkward and I start asking him about his car..  He still couldnt even say much, he was in love! He didn’t even realize at this point that it’s real. He is giving me propos for my clean conversion. Of course I told him it’s real, i’m too nice. Then this kid is even more speechless.. We talked for a few minutes about his car, and how his last car got jacked, and how shitty the world is these days with things getting stolen. He seemed happy that I even talked to him. He told me how he’s going to save all his money and buy himself a CTR. I love that! This kid had his whole life of owning a Honda planned out. He had to have been 15 years old! I can remember being that 15-year-old kid myself, looking at cars out at the street races, planning out what my “dream” car setup would be. It’s not a bad thing to have hopes and dreams, because thats how you set goals and get what you want. I can remember some of the assholes I met back in the day. You ask them anything about their cars, theyre too busy soaking up their ego trip to even give a shit. I like talking to the people out there that appreciate what I have. I was in their shoes at one time, and I set my goals and I knew what I wanted. I got it, why? Because I was determined.

Here are some teasers thanks to Nick over at BDL industries, be sure to check out their website. They now have a fan page up on Facebook also!
